Milos orginal story: Milo was found cruelly abandoned, starving, neglected, severely injured and in excruciating pain in the parking garage of a hospital! (Valley Medical Center in Renton, WA). A security guard who checks the garage every 30 minutes found him on 2-8-08 between 8:30 pm and 9:15 pm. If anyone saw anything suspicious please call Renton Animal Control at :425-430-7550 The security guard rushed him inside the hospital, and gave him to Lynne Lake who has worked at VMC for 10 years. Lynne, bless her heart, has saved 15 cats that were dumped at the hospital! Lynne Lake spent $400.00 of her own money when she and her daughter Stefanie Trumbla rushed Milo to an Emergency Clinic. He was sedated, and his wounds were cleaned. He was put on IV fluids, and pain meds.
Milo was then picked up at 7:30 the next morning (February 9th 2008) and taken to
Lynne's vet, where he had his feet cleaned once again, and had ointment put on. Then
he was bandaged up. Lynne still has 5 rescued cats to take care of, so thats when Lynne
and Stefanie brought Milo to Mary Tahlequah. Mary is a caring, licensed massage
therapist who owns "A Touch Towards Healing" in Kent, WA. She also has several
other rescue dogs, so Lynne and Stefanie were hopeful she'd take Milo. Mary also
used to be an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), which would come in handy for
changing Milo's bandages!

Luckily for Milo...Mary can't stand to see anyone or anything in pain. She swiftly took
Milo into her care, and discovered the horrible state that Milo was in. He was starved
down to skin and bones, and had severe open wounds exposing the bone in various
places on his front legs and severe open wounds on his feet.

Mary took Milo immediately to Dr. Tamara Norquist at the Kindness Veterinary Clinic in
Renton, WA. Mary found that Milo has a birth defect which inhibits the way he tries to
walk, and at first all he could do is crawl. He had to be held up to go potty, and it is
feared that he had an extreme accident of some kind, like maybe being dragged
behind or thrown from a vehicle. At first all he could do was scoot and crawl to get
around. Now he has enough strength to actually walk, but if he doesn't get corrective
surgery for his birth defect, the way he gets around will only cause trouble for him in
the future. Dr. Norquist said that without surgery, it would kinder to put Milo down.
Panic set in just like with Lynne Lake & Stefanie Trumbla who decided whole-heartedly
that putting Milo down was not an option!!! Dr. Norquist then made a call to Dr.
Thomas Fry at Cascade Veterinary Specialists in Issaquah, WA for a second opinion.

When Dr. Fry first saw Milo, he was very touched by Milo's spirit and sweet
disposition; and very concerned about his severe condition. Although Dr. Fry was all
booked up, he got Milo in as soon as possible because of the special request by
Dr.Norquist. Dr. Fry had stated that if Milo would have been brought in sooner, his
birth defect could have been splinted instead of having full blown re-constructive
surgery! Dr. Fry stated that it is critical that Milo heals his wounds before surgery.
During this time of wound healing, we are pleading for your help by donating to Milo's
Surgery Fund. (See Below)

Milo's surgery is going to cost between $8,000 and $10,000. This includes his
pre-surgery care, such as neutering, shots, an extensive blood panel, worming, and
wound care, etc. Milo has to be strong and healthy before his birth defect
re-constructive surgery. Milo also needs post surgery care and rehabilitation, which
will be costly as well. Mary desperately needs your help now!

Please help us while Milo is healing by donating to his surgery fund, called the: "Mary
J. Tahlequah, Milo's Medical Surgery Benefit Fund" at any Wells Fargo Bank. Help us
stop Milo's suffering, and get the re-constructive surgery for his birth defect.

Ways you can help? There are many...Cash donations, blankets, toys for Milo as he is still teething, (can be mailed) cross post his story to get the word out there, bandages as he still has a elbow which requires this, there are a 101 ways to help a dog in need.
Please keep them in your prayers and accept Mary and Milo's plea for help of the need for support. Alot of damage was done over this story and now Milo is the real one who is paying the price for a what mankind did.
